Mental health is a growing struggle for all ages, but young people today are feeling more isolated than ever. You can help reconnect them by joining millions of people on the third Thursday of March (3/16/23) and tell a kid or teen in your life why they matter for Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®.
Join the National Afterschool Association and Curacubby for an interactive webinar to experience the benefits of a digital solution to effectively run an Out-of-School Time (OST) program on April 6, 2023 at 10am PST/1pm EST. A Curacubby Product Expert will show you the features that support:
The NAA community is fortunate to have a variety of out-of-school time professionals committed to program quality for young people, families, and team members in the field. Each of our speakers for Convention are experts eager to share their experiences with participants to increase connectivity, comradery, and understanding among fellow afterschool professionals - and we are thrilled to have our partners at Scholastic bring Pam Allyn along for one of this year’s sessions.
Research (and practice) tells us that intentional social-emotional learning (SEL) programming is even more positively impactful when it’s experienced in all areas of life, not just during the school day. Join this webinar with our in-house experts and Sam Trevathan, Education Director for a Louisiana-based afterschool organization to hear tips and strategies to include research-based activities, staff training, and family engagement that are centered around SEL in your afterschool program. We'll discuss how intentional SEL can improve students personal and academic success while also enriching your K-5 OST program.
NAA’s Convention is a time for leaders to come together to network, problem-solve, and celebrate. In 2023 we are offering two invitation-only opportunities to influencers, leaders, and key stakeholders.

Calling all online learning innovators and those who want to learn from them.
Are out-of-school time employers limiting themselves by only considering degrees when hiring? Education comes in many forms, but when did we start valuing the version that comes with one paper, four years, and thousands of dollars over applicable skills? With the lasting effects of the pandemic, a potential pending recession, and continued civil unrest – all sectors are starting to move away from degree requirements and toward skills-based hiring. Is now the time for OST organizations to follow suit?

The NAA community depends on individuals committed to out-of-school time program quality for young people, families, and their teams that make it happen. NAA23 speakers are experts in the field willing to share their knowledge and experiences with attendees to increase connectivity, comradery, and understanding among fellow afterschool professionals. We are excited to have over 150 presenters for this year’s Convention and want to spotlight a few of our stand-out speakers ahead of our March 19th kick-off in Orlando.
Your squad, your posse, your people. Finding like-minded people isn’t just a pleasant discovery, it’s a basic human need. We are programmed to seek out others who can supply us with the love and sense of belonging we crave and, as social creatures, we crave those relationships. Without supportive people who accept you, understand your aspirations, and want you to thrive in life, you will likely encounter struggles that could further alienate you from important social groups and goals. At NAA23, you will have several opportunities to find your people among other dedicated Afterschool professionals.
