NAA23 Speaker Spotlight: Pam Allyn

Tuesday, 14 March 2023 15:59

The NAA community is fortunate to have a variety of out-of-school time professionals committed to program quality for young people, families, and team members in the field. Each of our speakers for Convention are experts eager to share their experiences with participants to increase connectivity, comradery, and understanding among fellow afterschool professionals - and we are thrilled to have our partners at Scholastic bring Pam Allyn along for one of this year’s sessions.

Pam Allyn is an award-winning author, speaker, and global advocate for the power of literacy to change the lives of young people. Her books include Every Child a Super Reader, 2nd Edition

coauthored with Dr. Ernest Morrell. She is also the founding director of LitWorld, a global literacy initiative. Pam will be leading NAA23’s General Session #3 on Tuesday, March 21. This session focuses on supporting each other for a strong profession, and Pam will offer unique insight into celebrating, honoring, affirming and amplifying the work young people are doing to make and build a sense of themselves, their communities, and so much more.

Check out a few of our favorite Pam Allyn books:
