High-quality programs keep kids safe and can produce measurable benefits in math, reading, and social and emotional learning; however, good attendance is critical for kids to experience those positive benefits.
The National AfterSchool Association is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 1 p.m. ET, which will explore effective strategies for student recruitment and attendance. The webinar will draw from the Wallace Foundation's Summer Learning Toolkit, a free, online resource featuring more than 50 practical tools and resources to help districts and their out-of-school time partners design and deliver high-quality summer programs. Resources draw from lessons from the National Summer Learning Project (NSLP) and align with research findings by RAND, included in Getting to Work on Summer Learning, 2nd edition.
We'll also hear from Pittsburgh Public Schools, one of the districts featured in the National Summer Learning Project. They will share their firsthand experiences and lessons learned with student outreach and engagement.
Join us to explore resources and strategies that can help you communicate with families and prepare them to show up ready the first day and coming back throughout the summer.
