Each year, we put a lot of thought into creating a theme that participants will find timely and inspiring. Motivated by our destination of New York City, the Statue of Liberty, Broadway, the hit musical Hamilton, Andra Day and the afterschool professionals and leaders who work tirelessly for young people ... "Rise Up! Passion. Purpose. Persistence." felt like a perfect fit.
Rise up and join us at NAA19 for four days of networking, learning and inspiration, from March 15 – 18, 2019. Participants will experience special events, tons of educational sessions, daily keynotes and an interactive Learning Expo—all designed to meet the needs of the developing professionals and emerging and existing leaders of afterschool.
If you're a leader, thinker, doer, dreamer, realist and/or youth development loyalist with a heart and soul for afterschool, you won't want to miss this event.
Keynote speakers this year include Alton Fitzgerald White, Actor, Mufasa in Broadway's The Lion King; Gina Warner, President and CEO, National AfterSchool Association; Gretchen Rubin, Author and Podcast Host; and Melody Herzfeld, Drama Teacher, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and Tony Award Winner for Excellence in Theatre Education.
You'll "Rise Up" and leave saying, "I've found my people!"
