Share Your STEM and HEPA Success During Lights On Afterschool

Tuesday, 19 September 2017 00:00

Across the nation, afterschool programs provide opportunities for young people to explore their interests and learn new skills. Afterschool programs are uniquely positioned to offer education and opportunity through hands-on, minds-on learning—without the pressures that sometimes accompany the school day.

Subjects such as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and healthy eating and physical activity (HEPA) are integrated into afterschool programs in response to community needs. Lights On Afterschool, held annually on the fourth Thursday of October (October 28th this year), is the perfect time to share your success and educate others about the value of afterschool and the important work that you do.
