Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next-step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP). S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting. The program currently operates in 34 states with 500 certified coaches, serving more than 3,000 youth in grades 3–12.
Colleges across the country are recruiting S3DA students to compete at the collegiate level, with more than $300,000 in college scholarships awarded during the 2015 season. These scholarships provide our students with the opportunity to continue their education while continuing their archery career and getting the chance to compete with other college students all across the country.
