Professional Development

NAA publishes fresh, new content every week covering a wide variety of topics related to the field of aftershool. In addition, NAA offers a variety of opportunities for virtual professional development (PD) through meaningful content, conversations and connections. Live Sessions for Support and Growth

The ACRES Project through Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA) has many new opportunities for you!

ACRES supports afterschool professionals as they engage youth in-person and/or virtually. Our live interactive virtual sessions offer you the headspace to reflect on, practice and learn new skills. ACRES helps connect you with others doing similar work. And we support your STEM activities over the course of the summer and as you look towards the fall.

RESOURCES

New to STEM? Join one of ACRES Ready Set STEM cohorts.

Going live and want support? Virtualizing your Out-of-School Offerings is a new cohort that may be of interest to you.

Have you recently finished a Purposeful Questions ACRES cohort and want to start another like Giving Youth Voice and Choice or Science Practices? ACRES has cohorts for returners.

If you don't see a cohort or skill that meets your needs, reach out! ACRES takes requests and suggestions into consideration as we plan future cohorts.

Finally, if meeting with a live virtual cohort doesn't align with your schedule this summer, check out MMSA's COVID-19 resources, which include videos of Zoom in action and tips and tricks for doing distance education.

Sincerely,

The ACRES team and Perrin Chick, Project Manager
