A Post-Election Message from NAA

According to the Science of Learning and Development (SoLD) Alliance, youth need a system of supports that enables healthy development, meets student needs and addresses learning barriers. Cross-sector collaborations are one way to provide these much-needed supports.

The New First Aid We Should All Be Practicing

Afterschool professionals and leaders have a responsibility for providing healthy and safe environments, for young people and those who work with them.

To better understand young people's perceptions of the conditions that support their social, emotional, and academic learning and development, the Center for Promise at America's Promise Alliance conducted a survey, for which findings are outlined in the new report What Drives Learning: Young People's Perspectives on the Importance of Relationships, Belonging, and Agency.

Beyond Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and health department guidelines, there are additional measures afterschool programs can take to help allay parents' worries and demonstrate their commitment to the well-being of the kids in their care.
