Help a Louisiana AfterSchool Program in Deep Waters

The current flooding in Louisiana is being called the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy. While the Red Cross is mounting a massive relief operation, our community of afterschool professionals is also being affected.

The Big Buddy Program has been providing positive role models and quality learning experiences for underserved children in Baton Rouge for over 30 years. The floods have affected nine Big Buddies; six of them have lost everything and we know the negative impact is much broader than that.

"This is a horrible tragedy; the community is in shock. There will be lots to do in the coming weeks," said Gaylynne Mack, Executive Director of Big Buddy.
