Park and Recreation Agency Grant Opportunity

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has announced a new funding opportunity for park and recreation agencies. These grant funds are intended to support the health of the children served at USDA Summer Food Services Program (SFSP) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sites.

Grants, provided courtesy of the Walmart Foundation, are expected to range from $25,000 to $35,000. Grant money will increase the number of healthy meals low-income children receive, provide nutrition literacy to the children and their families, help implement nutrition standards that increase access to healthier foods, and promote meal and program efficiencies to decrease food waste.

All local park and recreation agencies are eligible to apply. Grant applications must be submitted by March 7, 2016.
