The Thriving Workforce Initiative prioritizes job quality to stabilize the Out-of-School Time (OST) workforce and enable afterschool professionals to deliver high-quality programs that lead to positive youth outcomes. Our goal is to empower organizations–with the support of policymakers, funders, systems-builders, and others–to design field jobs with equity and inclusion that inspire a culture where employees and, subsequently, young people, thrive.
With midterms behind us and new officials establishing themselves, it’s time to champion change for job quality within the OST profession. As you prepare to advocate this legislative session, review our guide, Influencing Stakeholders to Increase OST Job Quality, to help you navigate these critical conversations. This document also includes reasons why job quality in OST matters and actions you can encourage policymakers to take.
Are you still trying to figure out where to start? There’s still time to get caught up.
