Health and Safety at NAA20

Thursday, 05 March 2020 00:00

With the ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we want you to know the safety of NAA Convention 2020 participants is of utmost importance to us.

We are holding NAA20 as planned, March 15-18, 2020 in Washinton D.C. We know there have been concerns about holding the conference at this time due to the risk of the coronavirus. We have been in consultation with local authorities and public health staff in the greater D.C. region as we closely monitor developments in our area and around the country.

This decision was made after serious consideration. We have collected as much information as possible because we know how much Convention means to our community. We are working with the hotel to ensure appropriate health and safety measures are in place for all participants and also trust that participants will undertake all necessary precautions for their own health and safety while at the event and during travel.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are declaring NAA20 a "Handshake-Free Zone." We encourage you to try these alternative handshake ideas at Convention.

In addition, our event team is working with the hotel to ensure appropriate health and safety measures are in place for all participants. We also trust that participants will undertake all necessary precautions to protect their own health and safety—by traveling with hand sanitizers and hand washing frequently—while at the event and during travel. If you have a respiratory illness or fever, please stay home.

In the meantime, please consider these proactive precautions as recommended by the Center for Disease Control, to protect yourself and those around you.

As this dynamic situation evolves, we will continue to utilize other measures as needed and will err on the side of caution. Thank you for your attention to these guidelines. We have an amazing event planned and want you to arrive and leave safe and healthy.
