Director-Community Affairs
President-Campbell Soup Foundation
Kim Fortunato was named Director-Community Affairs and President-Campbell Soup Foundation in May 2016. Kim is responsible for Campbell’s community affairs strategy and program, including employee volunteerism, Campbell’s Healthy Communities, and enterprise-wide expansion of the community affairs strategies. She joined Campbell in 2010 as the founding Director of Campbell’s Healthy Communities, the company’s signature philanthropic program based on a collective impact approach.
A significant investment in our Campbell’s Healthy Communities collective impact program involves afterschool programming. For example, for the past seven years, the collective has supported after school Cooking Matters® programs at our partner school sites as well as in the Campbell Consumer Test Kitchens. While the programs are implemented by Healthy Communities investee, The Food Bank of South Jersey, they are supported by dozens of Campbell employees who volunteer their time for six week sessions from 4 – 6:00 p.m. Additionally, a Healthy Communities co-investor, the US Soccer Foundation, has partnered with the collective to implement Soccer for Success (SFS). Led locally by the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties, SFS was the first city wide after school program in Camden in 2011. Today, the program serves approximately 700 kids each semester, and has recently begun a summer program.
Kim speaks nationally on the role of the private sector in public/private partnerships employing a collective impact approach. In December 2015, the National Academy of Medicine published her report on “The Private-Sector Role in Building Healthy Communities: A Collective Impact Approach.”
Kim earned her B.A. degree in French and comparative literature from Duke University, and her J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law.
