Corporate Advisory Board

CAB Logo

The National Afterschool Association established a Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) to help further the goals and mission of the organization and to educate and encourage corporate investment in afterschool programming.

WHO | Corporate leadership who invest in the afterschool landscape and understand the return on investment when actively participating in the development of our future workforce.

WHAT | Working with key leadership in the departments of Education, Community Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Human resources, Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) members serve as critical corporate champions for the National Afterschool Association (“NAA”) and the broader field of afterschool. Members of the Corporate Advisory Board assist NAA by providing professional expertise; connections to local, national and International corporate resources, colleagues or peers; philanthropic support, and other forms of needed assistance as identified.

The CAB focuses on six key areas of afterschool programs, they include:

  • Communication & Media
  • Health & Nutrition
  • Hospitality & Restaurant
  • Literacy
  • Play & Creativity
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math

WHY | Children spend less than 20% of their day in a classroom. Afterschool provides significant hours of opportunity to expand the academic, social and physical development of children. Over ten million young people are in afterschool programs. By participating on the CAB, members will have the opportunity to network with peers across a variety of industry sectors and companies while investing in our youth and—more importantly—our future workforce. Through this distinguished board of advisors, members will have the unique access to key opportunities to reach youth, change lives, and impact futures outside of classroom time.
