Afterschool: It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me

This year we lost several great musicians—first Prince and David Bowie, and then last week we said goodbye to two musical legends, Leon Russell and Leonard Cohen.

Many of us are aware that daily reading and literacy activity can enhance vocabulary, increase comprehension and develop an understanding about story structure, among other skills.

Technology and Fitness in Afterschool

Get excited about moving!

Technology comes with a price tag many afterschool programs cannot afford—and if they can afford it, the idea of a child "running with" technology is perhaps nerve-wracking. Technology is the here and now, however, and when we can use it to boost physical fitness, sometimes we have to step outside of our comfort zones and try.

Kids love technology! Wouldn't it be great if they could learn to make their own animations, video games or phone apps? In this webinar, learn how to get your students started with coding during the Hour of Code, a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to demystify code and show kids of all ages that they can learn the basics. Host your Hour of Code event during Computer Science Education Week, December 7 – 13, 2015.
